Straight off closing Funny Girl in September, Candice is heading down to Sarasota, Florida to play “Naughty Baby” Irene Roth in Crazy for You at the Asolo Repertory Theater. The show will be directed and choreographed by the incomparable Denis Jones, with music direction by Angela Steiner, and costume design by the late Eduardo Sicango. Candice will be having a perfectly marvelous summer playing Fräulein Sally Bowles in Cabaret at the Hangar Theatre in Ithaca, NY. The production will speak to the cyclical nature of history, and sets up an experience that asks the audience, “What would you do? My brave young friend?” Read the entire playbill announcement here!
February - April 2022:
Candice is overjoyed to be a player in Catch Me If You Can at Arena Stage, directed by Molly Smith, with choreography by Parker Esse. This production of the high-flying musical comedy has a new script, edited and revised from five different versions of the late Terrence McNally’s work. Read more about the production here!

Candice Hatakeyama won the 2021 BroadwayWorld Central New York Award for “Best Supporting Performer in A Streaming Musical (Professional)”. See the full list of winners here!
October 2021 - January 2022:
Candice is thrilled to be joining the Alabama Shakespeare Festival for their 50th season. She will be performing in the ensemble of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella from November 27th-January 2nd.
October 30th 2021:

May - August 2021:
Candice is so grateful to be returning to live theatre this summer, performing three shows in repertory at Texas Shakespeare Festival. She will be playing “Mistress Alice Ford” in The Merry Wives of Windsor, “Elizabeth Condell/Emilia Bassano” in The Book of Will by Lauren Gunderson, and “Lady Montague” in Romeo and Juliet. She is also featured on the cover of Etcetera Magazine’s August/September 2021 issue, which includes info about Texas Shakespeare Festival’s return to the stage. Read the full story HERE!

Candice is ecstatic to announce that she will be participating in the Syracuse University Department of Drama’s Lewis Hecker Virtual Drama Showcase. She will be featured alongside her classmates, the Musical Theatre and Acting students of the Class of 2021. Check it out HERE!

Candice was named as one of twelve senior VPA Scholars within Syracuse University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts (SU:VPA). It is SU:VPA’s highest undergraduate academic honor. The VPA Scholars program was established to recognize the achievements of the college’s top seniors. Candice is pleased to share a virtual presentation musical adaptation of Ruth Ozeki’s award-winning novel, A Tale for the Time Being. “Pivot” is the word of the year! While unfortunately Syracuse Stage’s production of Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley was cancelled due to COVID-19, Candice is honored to be able to ring in the new year with their virtual holiday show, “Home for the Holidays,” streaming now until January 5th 2021. December 4th, 2020:
Candice is pleased to debut her very first one-woman show, L@%E!, streaming on December 4th 2020 at 7PM EST. Written and performed by Candice, the show explores a young woman’s hopes and fears in relation to the word and concept of “love” as she deals with technical difficulties during a maid of honor speech.

Candice is excited to announce that she has made it to the top 15 of BroadwayWorld’s Next On Stage: Dance Edition competition. Dance self-tapes were submitted and critiqued by Phil LaDuca, Megan Sikora, and Jon Rua, and voted on by the public. Check out the full announcement here!
January 13th-24th, 2020:
Candice is thrilled to be ringing in the new year and decade with a new work as a part of RedHouse Theatre's inaugural New Works Festival, curated by Artistic Director Hunter Foster! She will be starring in a variety of roles in Bisland and Bly, with lyrics by Marialena DiFabbio & Susannah Jones, music by Marialena DiFabbio, and book & additional music by Susannah Jones, directed by Courtney Laine Self.
November 2019 - January 2020:
Candice will be featured in the ensemble, as well as understudying “Babette” in Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, playing from November 22nd through January 5th. Check out a preview here!
September - October 2019:
Candice will be playing “Sheila” in A Chorus Line playing at the Arthur Storch Theatre in Syracuse, New York, as a part of Syracuse University Department of Drama’s 2019-2020 season. Candice will be spending the summer as one of Flat Rock Playhouse’s 2019 Apprentice Company, performing as “Liat” in South Pacific, and in the ensemble of All Shook Up on the Leiman Mainstage, as well as performing in the children’s show, Rootabaga Express! at the Carl Sandburg National Historic Site Amphitheater.
May 2019:

Candice is honored to be joining Barrington Stage Company's Musical Theatre Conservatory, performing in Benji Goldsmith & Stefan Melnyk's Lies We Tell Ourselves, and Best of ‘Songs By Ridiculously Talented Composers and Lyricists You Probably Don’t Know, But Should’ at Mr. Finn's Cabaret, as well as understudying "Velma" in West Side Story at the Boyd-Quinson Mainstage.
